ABOUT US

We hope you'll spend a few minutes reading about who we are and what we do

Who We Are

We're people from a range of different backgrounds who all desire to serve and share God's love in the village of Addingham and beyond.  We welcome everyone, whether you already believe in God or not, to join us to find out what worshipping God in the world today means and how we can do it better.

Our main weekly worship takes place on a Sunday morning at 10.30am and this is complemented by other activites such as discussion groups in people's homes and regular opportunities to pray together.

Our worship is relaxed.  We sing traditional hymns and more modern worship songs, we pray, and we listen to the person leading worship interpreting bible passages that were written many years ago and explaining their relevance to our lives in today's world.  Sometimes there are pieces of drama or a group sing to us, and once a month we share Holy communion together.  It's a joy to share our worship with families and children of all ages and we hope all will feel at ease when worshipping with us.

We also have fun together outside of worship.  There are always events happening and activities going on that provide us with the opportunity to enjoy each other's company, get to know each other better and make friends.

We hope that all who encounter our church will feel a warm welcome and will be at home among us.

It is a joy and a privilege to share our worship with children

To the parents of young children may we suggest ....

Relax!  God put the wriggle and the giggle in children; please don't feel you
have to suppress your children in God's house!
Please let your children know that they are welcome in our church
and encourage them to feel at home.
We hope that you will feel made welcome and receive many smiles of encouragement.
After all, Jesus said, "Let the children come to me."
